"Explore Connect Become Yourself"

At ECB THERAPY, we offer compassionate support through integrative therapy, tailored to your individual needs. Whether online or face-to-face, our goal is to facilitate personal healing and emotional growth. Take the first step towards your true self!

I support individuals navigating

  • Emotional distress and overwhelm
  • Life transitions and personal growth
  • Identity, culture, and belonging
  • Relationship challenges and patterns

At the heart of my work is a deep respect for each person's emotional world. I offer a warm, non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings openly—and at your own pace.

I believe therapy is a collaborative process, and that healing begins when we feel truly seen, heard, and accepted—just as we are.

Whether you're working through a specific issue or seeking deeper self-understanding, I’m here to support your journey with empathy, curiosity, and care.

About Me

Hello, I’m Erika I’m a culturally sensitive psychotherapist with years of international experience, and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), fully committed to upholding their high standards of ethics and professional practice.

My approach is rooted in integrative psychotherapy, which means I draw from a range of therapeutic models to best support your individual needs. This flexibility allows us to work together in a way that honours your unique experiences, challenges, and strengths.

Having lived and worked across several countries over the past 20 years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting people from a wide range of cultural, social, and personal backgrounds. In addition to my private practice, I have worked in public services, charitable organisations, and immigration support roles, all centred around communication, advocacy, and emotional support. These experiences have deepened my understanding of the emotional complexity people carry—and the importance of being met with compassion.

What I Can Help With

I support young people and adults facing a wide range of emotional and relational challenges, including:

  • Anxiety, panic, and feelings of overwhelm
  • Depression and low mood
  • Grief, loss, and major life transitions
  • Trauma, including early or developmental trauma
  • Relationship and attachment difficulties
  • Low self-worth and a harsh inner critic
  • Compulsive behaviours and emotional regulation
  • Anger management
  • Burnout and work-related stress
  • Identity exploration and questions of cultural belonging
  • Intercultural and interracial relationships
  • Expatriate adjustment and cultural displacement

Whether you're going through a difficult time or seeking to better understand yourself, I offer a compassionate and supportive space where we can explore what matters most to you.

How I Work

My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in deep respect for your unique life experience. I believe that healing happens in relationship — and that therapy can be a space not only for insight, but also for meaningful transformation and personal growth.

As an integrative psychotherapist, I draw on a range of therapeutic models to support your emotional well-being in a way that is flexible, sensitive, and tailored specifically to you. No two people are the same, so the therapy we co-create will always honour your individual needs, pace, and goals.

Some of the key approaches I integrate include:

Psychodynamic Therapy

This approach helps us explore how early life experiences and unconscious patterns may be influencing your current feelings, behaviours, and relationships. It can bring deeper understanding and lasting change by making hidden patterns more conscious.

Attachment-Based Work

Our early attachment relationships shape how we relate to ourselves and others. By gently exploring these relational templates, we can begin to understand feelings of insecurity, fear, or disconnection, and work towards developing a more secure sense of self and connection.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT focuses on the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. It can be particularly helpful for managing anxiety, low mood, or unhelpful thought patterns. Together, we’ll identify and gently challenge these patterns, while building healthier coping strategies.

Trauma-Informed Approaches

I work with great care and sensitivity when addressing past trauma. A trauma-informed approach recognises the impact of overwhelming experiences on the nervous system, and prioritises safety, choice, and empowerment throughout the therapeutic process.

Mindfulness and Body Awareness

Emotions often live in the body. Incorporating mindfulness, breath, and somatic awareness helps you reconnect with your inner resources, reduce overwhelm, and cultivate self-regulation and resilience.

Culturally Responsive Therapy

Your cultural background, identity, and lived experience deeply shape how you see yourself and the world. I honour the significance of race, ethnicity, culture, gender, sexuality, religion, and social context, and am committed to providing a space where you feel respected, seen, and truly understood.

A Personalised, Collaborative Process

Our work together will be guided by what matters most to you. Whether you're:

  • Working through emotional distress or trauma
  • Navigating a life transition or identity question
  • Struggling in relationships or with self-worth
  • Or simply wanting to know yourself better

…I will meet you with compassion, curiosity, and a strong commitment to your growth.

I also understand that therapy itself can be shaped by your background — including cultural or religious values, language, and personal history. That’s why I take a thoughtful, inclusive approach, ensuring that our work is not only effective but also feels safe, affirming, and genuinely supportive.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect in the first session?

The first session is an opportunity for us to meet and decide if we’re a good fit to work together. Attending doesn’t mean you’re committing to therapy with me. I’ll ask some questions to understand what brings you to therapy and identify your needs. I’ll also explain important details like confidentiality, cancellations, holidays, and fees. This is a chance for you to ask any questions you have about therapy too.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions depends on your unique circumstances and goals. There’s no set limit, and you can continue as long as it feels helpful. We’ll work together to create an initial plan based on your needs and goals, which we’ll regularly review to track progress and decide on the best length for your therapy.

How often are sessions held?

Sessions are usually weekly, at a day and time we agree on. Weekly sessions are recommended unless we decide that meeting more or less often works better. Sometimes, longer sessions (90 minutes) every two weeks can be an option if it fits your needs.

Is online therapy effective?

Yes! There’s growing evidence that online therapy can be just as effective as face-to-face sessions. I strive to make sure all the important aspects of human connection are maintained by offering real-time video calls.

Is everything I say confidential?

Everything you share in therapy is confidential, with a few exceptions. If I believe you are at risk of harming yourself or others, I may need to involve other professionals like your GP, psychiatrist, or a trusted family member—but I will always discuss this with you first. Confidentiality will be fully explained during your first session, and you’ll give informed consent.

What if I´m in crisis?

I don’t offer a crisis service. If you are in crisis, please reach out to these resources:

  • Call 116 123 to talk to Samaritans or email jo@samaritans.org (response within 24 hours)
  • Text “SHOUT” to 85258 for the Shout Crisis Text Line
  • Use the NHS 111 online service or call 111 for advice
  • Contact your private GP for guidance and support
  • Visit  Mind for self-help tools and calming exercises
  • If you feel you cannot keep yourself safe, call 999 or go to A&E immediately. Mental health emergencies are serious and you will be supported.

What if I feel better and want to end therapy?

Ending therapy is an important step. When you feel ready, we can discuss and agree on a suitable ending date.

What is your cancellation policy?

Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel. Cancellations made with 24 hours' notice won’t be charged. Cancellations less than 24 hours before the session will be charged in full.

How can I pay?

Payment is expected before or at the end of each session. You can pay by cash or online transfer.
